Deep Tissue Massage

Reduce Muscular Tension and Restructure

Deep-Tissue Massage is a full body massage concentrating on deeper seated, and often more long-term, chronic problems of the soft tissue, such as static and postural muscles. The treatment is generally stronger starting superficially and working deep, using long gliding strokes and slow stretching techniques, to work into the muscles and tissues, which makes it deeply relaxing.

Patients typically describe this as “good pain” and the results often produce longer lasting relief of pain and discomfort. Relieves muscular tension and painful trigger points as well as boosting circulation. Also effective in relieving osteoarthritis pain and fibromyalgia pain.

Why have it

Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles. It is used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

Deep Tissue Massage can provide a foundation for good health. This is achieved by realigning body segments whilst releasing chronic muscular stress and tension. It can be a very different style of massage when compared with the more usual Remedial massage. Deep Tissue massage aims to reshape the connective tissue that surrounds the muscles (whereas Remedial massage mainly concentrates on relieving the stresses within the muscles).

Health Benefits

The process of Deep Tissue Massage aims to restructure the muscular system by re-positioning muscles, tendons and ligaments that may have become bunched and shortened. By realigning the body, habitual patterns of tension and stress accumulated by today’s lifestyle may be released. In addition to improved posture, other benefits include pain relief, increased energy and an improved sense of relaxation and wellbeing.
